Inquisition: Obscure verses for the multiverse

18/11/13  ||  sincan

Fasten ye seat belts ye heathen fucken basterds of filth and sodomy and prepare for a journey into the dark and the unknown. Inquisition, yeah those who actually succeeds to create some buzz in the black metal underground community these days, are back with a new album. Interesting? Indeed.

Okay, there is no need in denying the Immortal worship and especially the similar vocals so lets get over that already. This album is actually a really fresh breeze, at least for me, when looking at this years’ black metal releases, and when I say fresh breeze I mean as in totally timeless and stable as(s) fuck. Hm, stable ass fuck, those memories… Well this album is full of good riffs with timbres of the anti church’s bells sneaking upon you with a secret force making your neck nodding delighted.

Mostly we are served mid tempo black metal ov great quality. If you don’t enjoy this, you are totally “doing it wrong” and should try it until you like it. If that doesn’t comply with succeeding, anal insertion of a scorpion will do the trick.

Yeah, except for the clanging riffs we are also served the now so typical, and oh so great, twisted serpent string riffs of hell and fire. Not to be confused with the horrible ones. Another aspect to shine light upon is that of the production standard, which I have nothing negative to gossip about. You will hear every note, every drum pounding, every grasping vocal and no bass at all. However the track titles are like Absu’s, rather hard to link with the actual track and full of words.

So either if you are like “fuck yeah Inquisition!” (with or without a hipster beard) or if you are like “never heard of these guys, they must be bad (=I don’t know shit)” I have this final words to sum this verdict up. Seal of approval, Inquisition’s “Obscure verses for the multiverse” has it.
